Planning a funeral can be a daunting and difficult affair, often with little time to organise everything and in amidst all the grief, a feeling of being totally overwhelmed.
I decided to become a funeral celebrant after being asked by a friend’s parents to write and lead her funeral service, when she died. I was honoured to do this for her, and the experience made me realise that through the immense sadness, it’s possible to give someone you love a really great goodbye, that is as unique as they are and to celebrate and commemorate their life, in a lasting memory of the day.
I really felt that I’d found my niche and now I’m passionate about helping people to create heartfelt and individual farewells.
I’ll work personally with you from start to finish, meeting you in the comfort of your own home, usually over a cup of tea.
I’ll take time to listen to your stories and memories, to gain a true sense of the person who has died. We’ll chat about what’s important to you and discuss any ideas you have for the service, so that it truly reflects their character & nature and tells their life story perfectly.
I’ll create a beautiful funeral ceremony which weaves everything together to truly honour and remember them, a celebration of their life, whilst allowing the mourning of your loss.
A funeral doesn’t have to be a sombre occasion though and there are so many ways to make it an uplifting, comforting and meaningful experience. I’ll help you to find poetry, readings and music, and suggest other personal touches that can make the funeral memorable. If you want to include religious content, hymns, prayers or blessings that’s no problem either.
On the day I’ll officiate to ensure everything goes smoothly but if any family or friends would like to be involved in the funeral, I’ll support you in carrying out as much of the service yourselves as you feel able to and if you get too upset I’ll be ready to step in at any time.
Recently I officiated at a funeral and afterwards a lady came to thank me and said she wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to say so, but it was “the best funeral she’d ever been to”. It’s the greatest compliment anyone can give me.
I understand that you only get one chance to say a Gorgeous and great goodbye.
Don’t just take it from me. Here’s what my clients are saying…….
“even the hotel’s wedding planner mentioned how amazing the service was”
“our friends and family said it was the most moving and unique wedding they’d ever been to”
“You captured our spirit and words cannot express how grateful we are”
“It was even more beautiful than we could ever have imagined and truly the best day of our lives.”
“all our guests said they have never experienced such a wonderful service”
“we were in tears of joy and laughter throughout the ceremony. We would recommend Jacquie 110%”
“The ceremony that Jacquie created really exceeded our expectations, and she absolutely captured the tone and feel that we wanted”
